Hogeun Lee

Hogeun Lee studies psychological mechanisms of persuasion, focusing on health-related topics. His research aims to enhance the effectiveness of public health interventions and combat health misinformation through strategic communication.
Hogeun Lee is a doctoral student at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on how messaging strategies influence beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors, especially in public health campaigns and pro-social interventions. He is also committed to correcting health-related misinformation and designing effective fact-checking messages.
Before his doctoral studies, Hogeun earned his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Communication from Seoul National University. During his time there, he contributed to several journal articles and conference papers on enhancing the persuasiveness of fact-checking messages. His Master's thesis explored the cognitive roles of peripheral information in persuasion, particularly within the context of welfare policy.
