Ying Zhang studies how to communicate health information on behavior and perceptions related to substance use, focusing on tobacco, aiming to enhance public health outcomes and address health disparities.

Coming from a public health background, Ying Zhang is interested in exploring how health communication affects health outcomes and disparities among various populations. Her research has focused on workplace health promotion and tobacco regulatory science. At Annenberg, she seeks to examine how message tailoring based on user-specific context can shift individuals’ knowledge, perceptions, and behavior regarding substance use, particularly tobacco. Ultimately, she aims to leverage innovative communication strategies to drive impactful health interventions and promote well-being.
