Grant Proposal Development
The Annenberg Grants Manager is here to assist Principal Investigators (PI) with proposal development for foundation and government grants alike. From drafting budgets to making sure proposals follow Penn protocols, they are here to help!
Please be sure to notify the Grants Manager any time you apply for funding or submit a proposal in order to ensure that university grant protocols are followed.
What Is a Sponsored Project/Grant?
A sponsored project is research or an activity that is sponsored, or funded, by an external organization, such as a federal, state, non-profit, or private organization or agency. Characteristics of a sponsored project include:
- Specific scope of work or set of specific aims
- Financial accountability and/or reporting; the funds must be separately budgeted and accounted for
- Specific period of performance
- Deliverables, including a final technical report
- Disposition of property
When in doubt, contact the Grants Manager to see if funding is classed as a sponsored project, grant, or gift.
