Wanyan Wu is a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Media and International Culture at Zhejiang University. She holds a Master's degree in Gender, Media, and Culture from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research interests center on digital culture, gender, and media culture, with a particular focus on the technocultures of digital humans. Her dissertation examines the complex interplay between digital humans and human beings, focusing on two main avenues: the agency and subjectivity of digital humans, and ‘subjective side’ of people’s relationships with these emerging technologies. Through her work, she aims to shed light on the dynamics of human-technology interfaces and their broader cultural, social, and ethical implications.
