This project analyzes the extent to which combinations of risk behaviors (e.g., sex and alcohol, alcohol and violence) are portrayed in popular and Black-oriented TV and films, and also uses longitudinal survey data from 14-17 year adolescents to test the effects of exposure to behavioral combinations on adolescents’ risk behavior. Differential susceptibility to media effects based on race, sensation seeking, and impulsivity will also be assessed.

Postdoctoral Fellow Morgan Ellithorpe is participated in the research.
