The Annenberg Virtual Reality ColLABorative and the Center on Digital Culture and Society is pleased to invite you to a happy hour screening and research discussion about social life and research on virtual reality platforms. Join us at 4:30pm to hear an introduction to the popular virtual reality platform VR Chat by PhD Researcher Runze Hu. Then, stay for the 5pm happy hour and screening of the first documentary filmed entirely in virtual reality We Met in VR (2022).

Location: in-person in Annenberg Room 108. Food and beverage will be provided to facilitate social connections and discussion! Please RSVP.

About the Film: 

Filmed entirely inside the world of VR, this documentary captures the excitement and surprising intimacy of a burgeoning cultural movement, demonstrating the power of online connection in an isolated world. See more info here.

About the Speaker:

Runze Hu is a PhD Researcher at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Runze researches the cultural dynamics and use of immersive virtual environment technologies in users' everyday life. Before joining the LSE Department of Media and Communications, Runze worked as a brand manager and user researcher in a Shenzhen-based tech startup which specializes in location-based, room-scale virtual reality entertainment and Redirected Walking Algorithms.
