John L. Jackson, Jr., the Richard Perry University Associate Professor of Communication and Anthropology, reviewed Contested Waters: A Social History of Swimming Pools in America, by Jeff Wiltse, for The Washington Post. The review appeared in the Sunday, May 6, 2007 edition (Page BW08). "The Deep End" is the title of the review which states up front, "America's racial history can be read in the chlorinated waters of its pools."
