This page, maintained by the Communications Office, provides the Annenberg community with assets and guidelines to help maintain a consistent visual style for the School.

Annenberg Brand Resources

Brand Guide

The Annenberg Brand Guide is available on Box. A Pennkey is required for sign-in. The guide lists our colors, logos, and fonts, and explains their allowed usage. If you have any questions about the content within, please contact Julie Sloane. 

Logos

On Box, Penn community members can access digital versions of the Annenberg School logo (including vector logos). A Pennkey is required for sign-in. Available logo versions include full color, full color shield with white lettering, all white, and all black. If you require the logo in another form, please email emma.fleming@asc.upenn.edu.

Digital Letterhead

Members of the Annenberg Community are welcome to use the school's digital letterhead for professional purposes. School and Center letterheads can be downloaded from Box, with a PennKey required for sign in.

Business Cards

Please contact Allison Plaisted in the front office if you require business cards.

Slide Deck Templates

An Annenberg School branded PowerPoint template is available to members of the Annenberg community with a PennKey. It has a large number of styles in an attempt to accommodate many types of presentations. There are also a large number of slide masters that offer different colorways. If you would like access to a Canva version, please contact the Communications Office. 

Email Signature

While you may sign your emails however you choose, we suggest the following formula as your default email signature:

Zoom Background Images

Members of the Penn community can use their Pennkey to sign in to Box and access a folder of downloadable images that are suitable for use as Zoom backgrounds.

Website Updates

If you would like to make updates to any content on asc.upenn.edu, please fill out the Communications Office help form, and select "website update" as your category. We will make these changes within 2-3 business days, and usually sooner. If you are a center staff member who needs to make changes to your site or post events, please get in touch with Julie Sloane for training and login credentials.

Media Guide

Whether you're preparing to write for general audience or for an interview with the media, our media guide has lots of great information. Please also reach out to Julie Sloane for any assistance in promoting upcoming projects or to prepare for upcoming media appearances.  

Op-Ed Help

The Communications Office is often able to help with the writing and/or placement of op-eds. If you have an idea for an opinion or bylined piece, please contact Julie Sloane. 

Faculty, Student, & Staff News

If you have good news to share - be that a new publication, award, job, talk, or anything else -- we want to hear it! Please fill out the Communications Office Help Form and select the category "I have news to share." 

Publication Notice

We ask that scholarly publication authors notify the Communications Office upon acceptance in order to give us time to prepare any promotional materials. Book authors should notify Communications as soon as they have a publication date. 

News Digest Email

In order to be included in each month's News Digest email, news must be received by the 25th of the month. This email to the Annenberg Community includes all of the publications, media mentions, awards and honors, events, and any other news of which the Communications Office is aware. 

Video

The Communications Office creates video to promote the school and its scholarship to the wider world. This can be short video or longer film projects. If you have an idea for a video, please email Shawn Kornhauser. If you are seeking video for use in a research experiment, please create a ticket for the IT department. 

If you need permission for outside film crews to use our space, please contact the Communications Office for help in completing a location agreement and in notifying Facilities and Operations staff. 

Design

The Communications Office designer is available to support the School's needs for event graphics, TV slides, signage, swag, and more. If you need design services, please fill out the Communications Office Help Form.

For less formal graphics, Canva provides customizable templates that non-professionals can use. 

Photography

If you require new photographs be taken for an event or a new headshot, please create a ticket for the IT department. If you are seeking to use existing Annenberg photos, please explain your needs using the Communications Office Help Form.

If you use photos taken by the School — including your personal headshot — please give credit (where possible) to “Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania.”

Penn also has publicly available public stock photos and aerial stock photos which are free to use with attribution. 

Policies

The Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania may photograph, videotape, and/or record images, video, or audio of its faculty, students, or staff for a variety of promotional or educational activities, including (but not limited to) class use, websites, student recruitment, fundraising, promotional activities, and/or public relations. These images/videos/recordings may be published in University publications including on the Annenberg website and School social media accounts. If any member of the Annenberg community does not wish to have their identifiable likeness used for these purposes, they may A) refuse and/or move away from a shot; B) make a written request through the Office of Communications (news@asc.upenn.edu). If you would like a specific photo of yourself removed from use, please also contact the Communications Office.
